LAKE

The lake was beautiful. Even though it was made by Hitler.. I fed these fish that were a good 2 and a half feet long!!! they were huge! I liked one of them better then the rest caust he says please when he wants food. He was so cute, and he was the biggest one there. He was about 3 feet long and really fat. My family says im learning German very fast, and I have good pronunciation =D. School started already!! Its so  overwhelming. I need to take the buse to get to school. and it makes a total of about 15 minuets. I ate a crep with nutella and banana and the banana tasted weird warm. but nutella is delicious! They said they will take me out on the lake in one of those peddle boats that four people can go in. It will be me, Tolga, Duygu and Till. there such amazing people. Tolga and Duygu are Brother and sister. Till is Duygus Boyfriend.

Towards the end.

Ok, so I know I haven’t written one of these blogs in over half a year. Because I forgot completely about it!! So I have only 26 days left. That time is going down pretty fast. In the beginning the time went so slow… Like it couldn’t move slow enough. But now that I look back on my year here and think about it.. It went all to fast. I didn’t have the time I thought I would have. Over the past year I have changed a lot. Into someone who, not only writes poems, but someone who isn’t scared anymore to be who she is. I tried so hard to fit in with everyone and it didn’t work out. So why try to be someone your not? Once I stopped trying, I started fitting in. Kind of weird huh? It also helped that I could speak some German. So I have been here doing my own thing, being me.

New Year and Then some

Ok, so I know its been FOREVER since I wrote the last blog here.. its not that im so busy to write it or that I dont have time cause of home work, no… its cause I dont remember to and sometimes I just don’t feel like writing . Yah I know thats bad of me but,  It isnt easy here ill tell you that. HA. I have to put a reminder on my computer to write in here. How sad is that? Anyways, so last year I was with the Günes family. I had Christmas there and I was even sick on Christmas this year… like I couldn’t even eat the dinner… My dinner was bread with cheese melted on it. Not the Duck, potatoes, broccoli, apple thingy.. etc. SO after then delicious dinner, we did presents and had a great time doing it. Nothing really happened between Christmas and New Years. We went to Nalan’s brother’s house and had a little family get together. Then we all went out to a Greek restaurant. Played some board games. Then went home.

New years was interesting this year. I was supposed to go out with my friends and then last minuet I was told I couldn’t sleep over so I would have to leave around 2-ish. the thing is though, the bus stops running and midnight and doesn’t start again till 6 am. My parents couldn’t drive because of all the snow,  the slippery roads and the time. So, I couldn’t go. I knew it was sad, but I did get to spend New Years with my parents here and we drank sekt and had a blast with the fireworks. I was also lucky to Have New Years with my Mom and Brother back home.  As we were speaking the doorbell rang. It was the package I sent to them!!! I got to see their faces as they opened their gifts and try the *stuff* My parents bought them. We talked for about 3 hours! Then as I went to sleep, at 9 am we talked again so I could celebrate theirs as well. This year I got two New Years hahaha.

I am now in a new House. I moved on the 2nd of January. My family is German, I have a little sister named Viktoria, she is 13, my Mom’s name is Suzanne, and my Dad is Heinz-Werner. My first full day in the house we went to a Hot Spring. It was super fun, and the water was not chlorine it was salty! natural salts.. good for the skin too. and I also realized another thing… I need to start more exercise. I know it goes with being an exchange student, but wow. at the beginning I gained a lot. Total  10 kilos. I am now in Aerobics class to help this unwanted weight go away! I live 10 mins from the school so I walk everyday. With the snow I cant ride the bike otherwise that would be faster.  Got to go eat ❤ till next one hopefully sooner then this one hahahah

Hey, Everything here is going great. My family is amazing. I have a younger brother, Tolga, and my parents, Turgay and Nalan. I have been here three months now and are just now getting a little bit ” Home-sick”.  But just a little bit, nothing to worry about. Two weeks ago my family took me to Turkei with them. Our initial flight was delayed for two hours.. at a 2 am flight! we didn’t get there till about 7 or 8 am. And the flight back was delayed 4 hours at a 11 pm flight… But then after we got there we slept for a while at our hotel. We landed in Istanbul and drove to Ankara. I met their family there and it was a great experience. I saw so much and I love to travel and Rotary helped me put down the first stepping stones to my new life. After what happened I really needed a “distraction” from my home life. I was one of the most effected people in my family. so coming here has helped me in many ways. I have been going to German lessons and its helping me but the grammar is so hard!! I never thought learning a language was so difficult. But I am trying and it has only been three months so.. i consider myself normal. haha

On My WAY

Yesterday a couple people and I decided to  go into town and “hang” out a little bit and eat and what ever… and so I took the train( this was before I got together with my friends) with my friend Mahsa (also my neighbor) and there were these boys. I would say they were around 13ish… lol they were so cute! One of them was doing this thing with Mahsa that made us both laugh so hard. He would look at her, then look away, then look back and stare a while, then look away. I noticed this and told her and we would both look at him and laugh a little then look away… ect. and people got in her way so she would lean pretty far to see if he was looking (which he was) and she would quickly return to normal. hahahahhaahhahaha we did this for a good 20 minuets. About 5 minuets before we got of we were at a stop, and an older gentleman got on the train so Mahsa and I got up to give the man our seats. well he stood there and didnt sit. Mahsa look at me as if talking to the man and said ” OO he better sit! I gave up a good seat for him” and she kept going lol and he has got to be in his 90’s ill say. and he never sat. It was a little frustrating at first then it was just funny… So when we got off at Kropcke (the main meeting place in town) we waited for the train to star moving. She waved goodbye and smiled and what not, and all he did was a weird smile thingy…. hahhahahahah

Ok… Today

Today I woke up at 6ish am. Not off to a great start either. Today is the day Duygu left.DUYGU She is on her way to start her own adventure in North Carolina. We went to the airport at about 6:45 and her bags were checked in and we stood there for a little while, then My friend Mahsa started to cry then Duygu started to cry, the Janine started to cry, then everyone started crying… Airports are like the DMV. You don’t want to go to them because there full of emotions and make people uncomfortable… and you have to wait FOREVER, but in the end you have to do it anyway.

We just got back about an hour or two ago and dugy called. She just landed in Munich. I think its funny because the whole time all I was thinking about was our little joke… so when Till started to talk to her I asked him if he would tell her, “Don’t forget Jason” hahahaha thats our joke. Its ALL about Jason. But the funny thing is, you cant explain it. Jason is unexplainable. Everyone asked who is Jason? “well…. Jason is Jason”. Tell me about him? whats he like? “uhhhhhh…. His name is Jason.” hahaha we cant stop laughing.. ahhhhh good times.

I am going swimming today with some Rotary kids. I am meeting them under the Horse at the train station. we need to take 3 trains to get to the lake. 3! But I am so excited. It is unbelievable how expensive Germany is! like.. wow. AND I didn’t know that I needed to buy insurance here, and it costs 365 euros. So instead of my club giving me allowance there going to use it for the insurance. which is three months worth of allowance. so i got three months of what ever i have already! so I cant really do a whole lot of shopping..

I cant believe I have been here for a little over 2 weeks…

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA random ramble… I love it… OOHH German classes are going good. I think i made some friends in rotary now! One is named Carlos (from Mexico), Jillian (from USA), Alfonso (Mexico), and Jason (New York). there all really nice.

WELL time to go swim ^^

All I can say is wow. My flight over here was pretty boring… but I met a couple people who were very nice. Someone even offered me a job!! Although it is in Saudi Arabia…. as an english teacher. woot!! when I first met my family i was trying to figure out how to drag my suitcases. One of them said “Hannah?” To be honest I wasnt thinking of my family… so i was freaking out that someone knew my name. But when I turned around I saw Tolga, Duygu, Nalan, and two of Duygus friends waiting there for me. I was at instant relief that it wasnt some strange person trying to pick me up. cause at that time i was wearing my name tag. which, obviously, has my name on it. Duygu was holding roses!! awwww that made me smile. they all gave me a hug. And if anyone knows me i love hugs. hugs are the best things in the world!! THERE WARM AND COMFORTING. My house is beautiful. wood floors, tile floors, back padio, two story, not to big not small. its perfect. And my family is amazing. I love them! Tolga is soo adorable, Duygu is the sweetest girl in the world. even though there is a barrier between me and my parents i know they like me and i like them. hopefully i can learn the language fast so i can talk with them. well i better go so BYe ❤
